INCIDENT 003: THE ANSWERING MACHINE
The answering machine kept recording messages after the phone line was disconnected.
Every message was my voice describing what I was doing in the room.
Recovered notes
The recordings contain room noise matching the house, but the voice is always several seconds ahead of the listener. One tape ends with the speaker describing the family unplugging the machine, followed by silence exactly when the plug was removed.
The record remains in the archive because it shares at least one recurring marker with later incidents: an extra room, a duplicated person, a timestamp that precedes its cause, or a numbered door that should not exist.
